TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. Introduction

1.1 These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the use of the Petinger platform (“Platform”), operated under the name “Petinger” (“Company”, “we”, “us”, “our”).

1.2 Petinger is an online digital marketplace that connects Pet Parents with independent pet sitters for the purpose of arranging pet hosting and related services.

1.3 By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1.4 If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.

2. Platform Role and Nature of Service

2.1 Petinger acts solely as an intermediary technology platform facilitating connections, bookings, and payments between users.

2.2 Petinger does NOT provide pet care, pet sitting, or animal services.

2.3 All pet sitters are independent third-party service providers and are not employees, agents, or representatives of Petinger.

2.4 Any contract for services is formed directly between the Pet Parent and the pet sitter.

2.5 Petinger is not a party to any agreement between users.

3. Eligibility and Account Registration

3.1 Users must be at least 18 years old to use the Platform.

3.2 Users must provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information.

3.3 Users must create an account to access services.

3.4 Pet sitters and Pet Parents may be required to undergo identity verification.

3.5 Petinger reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts at its sole discretion.

4. User Content and Verification Requirements

4.1 Users must upload profile images.

4.2 Pet sitters must additionally upload:

  • Profile images

  • Images of their home/property where pets will be hosted

  • Verification documents (including ID and/or utility bills where required)

    4.3 Pet Parents must upload:

  • Profile images

  • Pet-related information including health, behavior, and care requirements

    4.4 All uploaded content is used for trust, safety, verification, and platform integrity.

    4.5 Misrepresentation may result in immediate suspension or permanent removal.

5. Bookings and Contract Formation

5.1 Bookings are initiated through the Platform.

5.2 A binding agreement is formed directly between Pet Parent and pet sitter upon booking confirmation.

5.3 Petinger does not guarantee availability, suitability, or performance of any user.

6. Payments and Commission

6.1 All payments are processed via third-party provider Viva Payments.

6.2 Petinger charges a 15% commission per completed booking.

6.3 Payments to pet sitters are released only after successful completion of the service.

6.4 Petinger is not responsible for payment failures, delays, or errors caused by Viva Payments or banking systems.

7. Cancellations and Refunds

7.1 Pet Parent Cancellation Policy:

  • Full refund if cancellation occurs at least 1 week before booking date

  • No refund if cancellation occurs less than 1 week before booking date

    7.2 Pet Sitter Cancellation Policy:

  • Must provide at least 2 weeks notice before cancellation

  • If proper notice is given, full refund to Pet Parent

  • If cancellation occurs less than 2 weeks before booking or without notice, full refund to Pet Parent and Pet sitter may face review, restriction, or suspension

8. User Obligations

8.1 Pet Parents must:

  • Provide accurate pet health, behavior, vaccination, and care information

  • Ensure pets are safe, non-dangerous, and compliant with law

    8.2 Pet Sitters must:

  • Provide safe, clean, and appropriate accommodation conditions

  • Comply with all applicable animal welfare laws

    8.3 All users must comply with applicable EU and Cyprus laws.

    8.4 Any harmful misrepresentation may result in termination of account.

9. Liability Disclaimer

9.1 Petinger provides the Platform “as is” and “as available”.

9.2 To the maximum extent permitted by law, Petinger disclaims all liability for:

  • Injury, illness, death, escape, or loss of any pet

  • Damage caused by pets

  • Behavior or actions of pets

  • Conduct, negligence, or misconduct of users

  • Property damage arising from bookings

    9.3 All users use the Platform entirely at their own risk.

    9.4 Petinger is not a pet care provider under any circumstance.

10. Disputes

10.1 Petinger is not a party to disputes between users.

10.2 Users are solely responsible for resolving disputes between themselves.

10.3 Petinger may, at its discretion, provide informal assistance but has no obligation to mediate or resolve disputes.

11. Suspension and Termination

11.1 Petinger may suspend or terminate accounts without notice for:

  • Breach of Terms
  • Fraudulent activity
  • Misrepresentation
  • Safety concerns

12. Governing Law

12.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus.

12.2 Any disputes shall fall under the jurisdiction of Cypriot courts, subject to applicable EU consumer protection laws.
